In his Keynote Address, former New Zealand Prime Minister the Rt Hon. Sir John Key shares insights into the secret of New Zealand success in agricultural and livestock innovation technology, as well as the future of farming as we embrace an increasingly plant-based future.

“Should a New Zealand farmer (or farmers around the world) feel threatened by companies like Impossible Foods? No. But what I think you will see is substitution taking place, in the same way that we have moved from sheep to dairy cows and other products including kiwi fruits. Indeed I think we’ll see a move to producing the crop base used for plant-based products. It may take some time, but already plant-based meats are moving very rapidly into chicken and pork and other varied different products. I think the future sits in that space.”
