Subhadeep Sanyal is an investment professional with more than 13 years of venture capital investing experience across high impact sectors like agri-tech, rural supply chains, farm sourced branded food, sustainability, climate and rural fintech/financial inclusion. He is currently a Partner at Omnivore, a leading agri-tech, climate and rural focused VC fund. Subhadeep has been responsible for sector research, deal sourcing and due diligence and leading investments and portfolio management in multiple start-ups across Agri B2B marketplaces, Farmer Platforms, Agricultural Mechanization, Supply Chain Technologies, Climate financing, Agri-sustainability, Farm to Consumer Brands, Post-Harvest Technologies, Digital Agriculture, Rural Agri-Fintech, and Sustainable Ag Inputs amongst other subsectors. He currently manages multiple Omnivore investee companies and works closely with them on a variety of issues ranging from hiring, business development, strategy, fund raising and general scale up related aspects. He also is the primary liaison for the fund with multiple public sector and government departments working in the agri-food sector. He is a mentor for multiple agri-tech focused incubators and accelerators viz. FIED (IIM Kashipur), Pusa Krishi (IARI), A-idea (NAARM) amongst others. He frequents as a guest speaker addressing themes around agri-tech, entrepreneurship and scaling start-ups, across multiple prominent of the IIT's and IIM's, including IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Lucknow, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur etc. Before joining Omnivore, Subhadeep worked briefly with Mahindra & Mahindra (Farm & Auto Sector), supporting their entry into the micro-irrigation space through an acquisition.
