Srivalli Krishnan
Srivalli Krishnan leads the Agricultural Development portfolio for Asia region across all four pillars – Delivery; Crops R&D; Livestock; and Adaptive and Equitable Systems, and for sharing lessons in Agdev between India and Africa, in addition to building broader collaborations across multiple PSTs such as WEE, IFS and Global Health. Before joining the Gates Foundation, Srivalli held progressively senior roles at USAID, as the lead for the Feed the Future in Asia where she managed the agriculture and food security portfolio in India, Asia and Africa. Her earlier roles include serving as Senior Research Officer with the Australian Government’s Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry working on bilateral FTAs and Senior Research Fellow at TERI, where she worked on crop biotechnology and climate resilience research across India and South Asia.
Srivalli holds a Ph.D. in Crop Genetics from Cornell University, advance certification on Intellectual Property from WIPO Academy, Geneva and Inclusive Design Innovation from MIT, Boston. Her leadership credentials are further reinforced by executive training from institutions such XLRI, the Federal Executive Institute (USA) and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (Australia).Sessions
