Samir Wanmali is the WFP Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific since November 2024. With over 20 years of experience in food security, programme design, and emergency operations, he has held leadership roles across WFP headquarters, regional, and country offices. Previously, he served as Deputy Director of the Programme Division in Rome and led responses in Ukraine, Zimbabwe, and the Central African Republic. Samir holds degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Cornell University, and speaks five languages.
