Dr. Lakshmi Balagopal is the Asia Pacific – R&D Director at FMC. A synthetic organic chemist by training, Lakshmi started her career as a Principal Scientist and then assumed the role of Team Leader - Crop Protection - Discovery at DuPont Knowledge Center, Hyderabad. In 2017, she supported the merger of this team with FMC to set up India Innovation Center at Hyderabad. After moving into her current role in 2021, Lakshmi has been leading the Asia Pacific product development team to advance FMC’s pipeline, and deliver new, value-added solutions that transform the lives of farmers through sustainable innovation.
