Dr David Appleton is Chief Innovation & Technology Officer at SD Guthrie Berhad, where he leads innovation, technology, and R&D across one of the world's leading integrated palm oil companies. A New Zealand-born scientist with a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Auckland, he has built a career spanning steel manufacturing, pharmaceutical research, and agribusiness. Since joining SD Guthrie in 2010, he has led advances in genetics, breeding, biotechnology, and product innovation.
