Brian Tsuyoshi Takeda is a Japanese-Canadian entrepreneur and social innovator, widely recognised as the founder of Urchinomics, a pioneering aquaculture venture restoring wild kelp forests through the removal and valorisation of overgrazing sea urchins. In addition to this, he serves as an advisor to the Kelp Forest Foundation, contributing to the preservation and restoration of kelp forests globally. Takeda is also a steering committee member for NoMaRe (Norwegian Marine Restoration),and advisor to the Tarevoktere, or 'Guardians of the Kelp', where he dedicates his time to restore kelp forests in Norway. Additionally, he advises a select number of ecologically restorative ventures that align with his mission and values.
