Atsushi SUGINAKA is Director-General of Farm management improvement Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishery of Japan. As Director General, Dr. SUGINAKA focuses on improvement of farm management such as enhancement of productivity and corporatization, among others. In 2023, Dr. SUGINAKA was in charge of the amendment of the Basic Law of Food Agriculture and Rural Area. The Amended Basic Law mainstreams Smart Agriculture to overcome negative effect of the steep reduction in farming labour. He contributes to establishing a new financial system to promote the establishment of Agri-tech and food-tech companies.
