Nurasa on Scaling Agri-Food Innovation in Asia-Pacific
Xiuling Guo, CEO at Nurasa, joined Conference Producer Theresa Flach ahead of Nurasa's partnership at the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit in Singapore (November 4-6).
In the build-up to the Asia-Pacific Agri-Food Innovation Summit, Xiuling Guo, CEO of Nurasa, shared her perspective on the region’s most scalable agri-food solutions and the critical role of collaboration in driving innovation.
Guo emphasized that scalability is not just a technical challenge, it’s an economic one. Technologies can only succeed if they meet consumer expectations and are priced for adoption. In Asia-Pacific, health-focused and function-driven products are gaining momentum, with consumers increasingly open to trying sustainable innovations that deliver nutritional benefits.
She highlighted that solutions rooted in regenerative agriculture, advanced processing, and functional ingredients are attracting strong interest across the value chain, from retailers and manufacturers to global consumer brands.
Collaboration, Guo noted, is essential to accelerate innovation. Start-ups, research institutions, corporates, and governments must work together to overcome regulatory hurdles, scale infrastructure, and educate consumers. She described this collective effort as “raising a child,” where each stakeholder contributes to nurturing a new generation of sustainable food systems.
Guo also referenced two companies - one focused on upcycled grain fermentation and another offering blended plant-based protein products—as examples of how ecosystem support, strategic partnerships, and consumer-centric design can lead to meaningful commercial progress.
She concluded by praising the Summit’s role in fostering cross-regional collaboration and encouraged attendees to explore these innovations first-hand during their visit to Singapore.
